A NEW OUTLOOK ON LIFE

This was written the day he found out he was HIV+

The colors are bright

The sounds are louder

The shapes are sharper

"See the butterfly!"

Memories became valuable

Time is so short

Laughter is wanted

Tears be put away

I want to create

To survive

To help

To feel

To care

To laugh

The shadows come closer.

But my light shines bright

It will come

But not before I'm ready

Before I'm done

NO TITLE

The hour is dark

The chilly air blows

The crickets are chirping

The blackbird crows

A feeling of eeriness

Creeps into the heart

With any little sound

Jumping at any start

Shadows roam quietly

As sure with no sounds

The graveyard—their limit

The iron fence—their bounds

The hour grows later

The air grows lighter

Salvation at last

As the sun grows brighter

          THE NEW GENERATION

          " The innocent must suffer"

Says the law of the land …..

          Take away laughter

              Replace with tears

          Take away the happiness

              Replace it with sadness

          Take away the security

              Replace it with fear …

          Change mentality

              Create deficiency

          Change attitude

              Create rebellion

          Change feelings

              Create stone hearts

          Destroy future

              Make pain

          Destroy childhood

              Make adults

          Destroy life

              Make death

          Take, change, destroy------

              InnocenceReplace, create, make-----

              Corruption

" The innocent must suffer"Says the law of the land …..

NO TITLE

The day is long- weary and worn

Full of contempt, evil, and scorn

But through it all in my hiding place

I reside in peace and grace

If in this place will I hide

There I can be safe from pride

And dwell in this glory forevermore

Free from sin, will my spirit soar

If out of that bounds I have stepped

No longer in his grace, am I kept

Then I play by Satan's rules

And have become one of Lucifer's tools.

Oh Lord!, Protect me from his evil plan

OF MASKS AND WALLS

The intricate masks that people wear

Given time begin to tear

From the tears that once did flow

Lies continually change and grow

Where absolute trust once ruled the heart

Suspicion's now the choice so smart.

The world's a place: Cold, Dark, and Bare;

'round each corner lies a snare

"Care and Love" your friends surrounded;

Now every word alarms are sounded

Wall are built up hard and strong

So no one can do you wrong.

But in that shelter you survive

No longer living, just alive

Patiently living, all alone

Hate, Distrust are all that's grown

"Why me?" your small voice dares to say-

But those wall built keep it that way

NO TITLE

Construction destroyed

Creation dies

Words twisted

Love lost

Wall construct

Bitterness created

Untrue words

Hate found

Innocence ripped

From an unexpecting soul

No more laughter

No more tooth fairy

No more peaceful nights

To become a spouse

A lover

A bedpartner

An object

But we are strong

We overcome

We survive

We live

A day passed by

Only an hour

Only a second

Where goes the time

Time to build

To rebuild

To mend

To create

To love

To be

Time is all

Fun is none

THE INN

An inn against the mountains

Warmly greets you on a cold, wintry eve

" Come in , come in " Say the owner

He is your friend.

Slowly the sun sinks below the horizon

Signaling the beginning of night

As you crawl into your bed.
